Emmelyn's parents realized art to be her passion when their daughter drew a detailed family picture at age 3, complete with pockets, teeth, and people "holding" hands. Since then, Emmelyn's life has been devoted to building upon and sharing her gift with others.

The eldest of 6 children, Emmelyn was born in 1999, and graduated in 2017 as valedictorian of her class at Hall International Academy for Arts and Humanities. She then graduated from the University of Utah in 2021 Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Animation and a Drawing minor. Since graduating she spends her time creating and selling commissioned artworks, drawing and painting, digitally designing, crafting baskets using foraged materials, reading, and gardening. She has participated and won multiple awards in local and national art shows. Her works have been displayed in local galleries, on a Meridian city traffic box in front of city hall in Meridian, Idaho, on the walls of numerous homes, and auctioned at local community fundraisers.

Emmelyn has been a volunteer art teacher and guest artist at local elementary schools, has taught private art lessons and participated in numerous community art events. She loves constantly learning new styles and techniques, trying new mediums and stretching herself beyond her comfort zone. Her most exercised style is realism, due to her ability to recreate photographs and reference still life, but she is always working on improving her own imagination with art. She thinks it would be fun to be a storyboard artist and create her own cartoons and interactive experiences in the future.

Alongside doing visual art, Emmelyn took private piano and voice lessons all throughout middle and high school. For 6 years, she sang with Cantus Youth Choirs, an award-winning community choral program for Idaho Treasure Valley youth, and has performed in numerous community and benefit concerts locally and on tour. She was one of 17 singers and a soloist in Cantus' elite audition-based A Capella group, VoiceOver. The group was featured in local news stories, and released their first album on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon MP3 in 2016. In college, Emmelyn participated in the University of Utah's Women's choir, and began learning guitar on the side. Since graduating, Emmelyn sings with Millennial Choirs and Orchestras in their Idaho locale. She thanks her parents and the Lord for the many opportunities she has been given to learn and perform.

“Since Lyme I've always had a hard time showing my emotions. This right here made me bawl. Emmelyn captured what means the world to me and the reasons I fight for my life daily. I just have no words for the beauty you have captured. You have some special talent. Thank you for this beautiful piece I can treasure forever.”
